SC Botanical Garden

One of the most beautiful parts of Clemson's campus, the South Carolina Botanical Garden is a great place to visit on a nice day.  There are many nice trails which wind through the forests as well as paved paths to make sure you will never be too far from civilization.  If you are willing to stop and smell the roses, you are sure to find a plethora of interesting species of plants that have been planted all over this area.  Find your way here on some sunny day and have a blast!

Directions:  The Botanical Gardens is one of the trails located on campus and is very easy to navigate to.  There are many ways there through campus but the easiest way to explain is using the highways.  If you are at Sikes Hall (facing away from the building) turn right at the red light onto Old Greenville Highway and follow it until the on ramp for Highway 76.  Turn onto highway 76 and follow it until the first red light where you will turn right onto Perimeter Rd.  Follow Perimeter Rd for approximately 0.5 miles and turn left into the gardens main entrance.  Shown below is a picture of the parking area at the Botanical Gardens.

Details:  The Botanical Garden is made up of short trails and paved paths.  You can easily make your own path through the options available.  There are some hilly areas in the garden, but nothing that is very strenuous.  This is a great place to start running if your are unfamiliar with trail running for long periods of time.
